In 2009, she donated $250,000 to a number of US schools she had had contact with. In 2010, Henderson High School in Nashville used a Swift donation of $75,000 to refurbish the sound and lighting systems in its auditorium. In 2012, she staged a VH1 Storytellers performance on the campus of Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, after the college won a competition established by Swift with textbook rental company Chegg, Papa Johns, Covergirl and American Greetings.
